Treat yourself to three workshops as a refreshing part of our Advent journey to Christmas. Each workshop is distinct and individuals can attend each one separately, if they wish. These Wednesday workshops are from 10:00-11:30 AM.
On December 4, Sister Andrea Westkamp, OSB, offers a morning with Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem “Advent.” This poem invites us to slow down and be ready for the night of Christ’s birth. Let Rilke’s words take you to that much needed slowing.
On December 11, Kathy Frick, Obl.SB, invites you to explore the new and relaxing practice of “Color as Prayer.” This form of prayer can best be described as reflective “doodling” using colored pens, pencils and crayons. No artistic talent is needed; simply allow your hands to express what is in your mind and heart.
On December 18, Sister Andrea Westkamp returns for a morning reflecting on Beate Heinen’s painting of “O Savior, tear open the heavens” through visio divina. Visio Divina — "sacred seeing" — is a way of prayer in which we allow our hearts and imaginations to enter into a sacred image, in silence, to see what God might have to say to us.
Suggested Donation: $20 per session or $50 for the three sessions.
