Dr. Rushton is a published author and recognized expert on the subject of end-of-life issues and specializes in pediatric and neonatal care. Among her many credentials, she has served on the board of directors of the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics and is the current president of the Association for the Care of Children's Health. Dr. Rushton will define moral distress as a form of caregiver suffering, identify its causes and various consequences to patients, families and health care professionals. She will also identify strategies for addressing moral distress in the critical care setting.
