The Wisdom of Jesus

Centering Prayer with Father Bill Sheehan, OMI. Father Bill Sheehan will focus on Cynthia Bourgeault’s book “The Wisdom of Jesus.” Here Jesus is shown as a teacher of Wisdom. The wisdom path Jesus offers us is a path of surrender. Jesus embodies a gesture of yielding, surrendering and letting go. This gesture helps us in refining our practice of centering prayer. It also facilitates the process of living our lives in the present moment.

This session will be held on May 2, 2013, from 9am - 3pm. Suggested donation: $50 with refreshments and lunch provided.

  • Spiritual direction is an opportunity to journey with a companion seeking the way of God in our journey of life. Through the growth that comes we find peace and nourishment which enables us to be more of the image of God we were created to be. In the process we explore obstacles to being at peace with ourselves and the blessings that lead to peace and giving ourselves to our sisters and brothers.

  • Group Spiritual Direction, Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 pm in the monastery. If you want to improve your prayer life and discuss questions about your faith these sessions are for you! Prior registration and a commitment to attend all sessions is essential, since the group is limited to 6 participants. Suggested donation: $30 per session.

    Sessions: Jan 8, Feb 19, March 19, April 16, & May 21, 2013
We are able to offer Spiritual Direction or Spiritual Companioning to persons seeking it.  Three Sisters and three lay members of the staff offer spiritual direction.
