Thank you for your interest in St. Benedict Monastery which has been located in Bristow, Virginia for more than a century. We particularly appreciate your interest in the activities of the Benedictine Pastoral Center. Here we seek to embody those ideals and qualities that are at the heart of the Benedictine tradition: reverence for God and all creation, respect for learning, and the shared experience of prayer, community and hospitality.
Devoted to building the Kingdom of God, the Benedictine Pastoral Center provides a model of Christian leadership and is a catalyst for growth. The Center is a setting for spiritual direction and retreat programs for individuals and groups. We use professional leadership to offer opportunities designed to nurture and support all participants. Another major focus of the Center is training and assisting, in an atmosphere that encourages vision, openness to new ideas and sensitivity to the giftedness of self and others, those who minister.
The Benedictine Pastoral Center offers a 2007- 2008 calendar that includes programs on prayer, women mystics, Taize and Iona chanting; quiet days, interfaith discussions; meditation; spiritual creativity; women's programs; spirituality in healthcare and more.
