Confirmation Retreats
Confirmation retreats are offered by the Center at the monastery in Bristow or at your site. They generally run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (negotiable). The day is organized around the theme of gift: the Holy Spirit is Gift and gives 7 Gifts and we ourselves are a gift. Combinations of hands-on activities and prayerful reflection help bring the Gifts of the Spirit alive as well the individual’s need for communal service. Cost: $9 per student and $200 facilitator fee for groups of 65 or less + $75 per additional leader for larger groups. Students generally bring their own lunch and parish provides a small morning snack with drink. The day is well received and a typical response from students is their gratitude for knowledge about the sacrament and a desire for its reception.
First Holy Communion Retreats
First Holy Communion retreats may be 3 to 4 hours long, depending on the parish choice. If lunch is within the day, then an activity is added during the lunch period around the sacrament. This is an experiential day with emphasis on bread and wine making. Time is devoted to reflection on each student’s image of God, prayer and song around the last supper in John’s gospel and sharing of baptismal remembrances. Cost: $9 per student and $200 facilitator fee for groups of 65 or less + $75 per additional leader for larger groups.
